Fast & Furious Friday: While I'm At BEA14 Edition

This week things have been a little busy, what with BEA and all, but I still have a couple of books I wanted to share with you.

Of Neptune (The Syrena Legacy, #3)Of Neptune (Syrena Legacy #3)
Anna Banks
Publication: May 13, 2014
By: Feiwel & Friends
Genre: YA Paranormal
5 Stars

Emma and Galen’s kingdom and their love is threatened by long-lost Syrena in the brilliant conclusion to Anna Banks bestselling trilogy.

Emma, half human and half Syrena, and her Syrena love, Galen, need time together alone. Away from the kingdoms of Poseidon and Triton. Emma’s grandfather, the Poseidon king, suggests the two visit a small town called Neptune.

Neptune is home to both Syrena and Half-Breeds alike. But Emma and Galen didn’t sign up to be peacemakers between the ocean and the land-dwelling, freshwater Syrena. They didn’t bargain for meeting a charming Half-Breed named Reed, who can barely disguise his feelings for Emma. And they especially didn’t expect to find themselves in the middle of a power struggle that threatens not only their love but their ocean kingdoms.

In this stunning conclusion to her bestselling Syrena Legacy, Anna Banks thrills fans with more action and romance than ever.

*I purchased this.*

Emma and Galen's relationship is put to the test in this final installment of the Syrena Legacy and I'm happy to say they pass with flying fins colors! Action, adventure, and all kinds of swoon, (All.Kinds.) Of Neptune is the perfect ending to this epic underwater adventure!

The Dark World (Dark World, #1)Dark World (Dark World #1)
Cara Lynn Schultz
Publication: May 27, 2014

Genre: YA Paranormal

Paige Kelly is used to weird--in fact, she probably corners the market on weird, considering that her best friend, Dottie, has been dead since the 1950s. But when a fire demon attacks Paige in detention, she has to admit that things have gotten out of her league. Luckily, the cute new boy in school, Logan Bradley, is a practiced demon slayer-and he isn't fazed by Paige's propensity to chat with the dead. Suddenly, Paige is smack in the middle of a centuries-old battle between warlocks and demons, learning to fight with a magic sword so that she can defend herself. And if she makes one wrong move, she'll be pulled into the Dark World, an alternate version of our world that's overrun by demons-and she might never make it home.

This was my introduction to Cara Lynn Schultz and I don't know why I've waited this long to read her books. Funny, sarcastic with a powerful tug on the heartstrings, Dark World pulled me in and held on until the very last page. This is a great start to a new series and I'm excited for where Paige's story takes us next!

Boomerang (Boomerang, #1)Boomerang (Boomerang #1)
Author(s): Noelle August
Publication: July 15, 2014

Genre: New Adult

The first book in a sensational New Adult trilogy from Noelle August

Welcome to Boomerang.com, the dating site for the millennial gen with its no-fuss, no-commitments matchups, and where work is steamier than any random hook-up

Mia Galliano is an aspiring filmmaker. Ethan Vance has just played his last game as a collegiate soccer star. They’re sharp, hungry for success, and they share a secret.

Last night, Ethan and Mia met at a bar, and, well . . . one thing led to another, which led to them waking up the next morning—together. Things turned awkward in a hurry when they found themselves sharing a post hookup taxi . . . to the same place: Boomerang headquarters.

What began as a powerful connection between them is treated to a cold shower courtesy of two major complications. First, Boomerang has a strict policy against co-worker dating. And second, they’re now competitors for only one job at the end of summer.

As their internships come to an end, will they manage to keep their eyes on the future and their hands off each other, or will the pull of attraction put them right back where they started?

*I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review*

Fast, flirty and full of interesting moments, Boomerang is New Adult Light. Much like Ethan and Mia and a few of the other matches in the story, Boomerang and I had our issues. But we came to an understanding and I've no doubt it will be a hit among RomCom lovers even if it wasn't exactly what I was looking for.
