Author Talk: Susan Elizabeth Phillips

Last week, I had the pleasure of meeting Susan Elizabeth Phillips before her signing for the HEROES ARE MY WEAKNESS tour stop in Sykesville, Maryland. We had an old-fashioned sit down chat where we talked about books, writing, and families while enjoying some delicious French coffee. I don't have the best track record when it comes to first impressions. In my nervousness, I usually say or do something embarrassing. This time, I only managed to drop my phone, my keys and my purse 4 times in the time it took me to climb out of my car and shake Susan's hand. That counts as winning.  Susan was staying at a charming Bed and Breakfast that was within walking distance of the cafe we were headed to, so we decided to walk. We passed several old victorian homes, one in particular that reminded me of Theo's house in HEROES ARE MY WEAKENESS. Susan paused to snap a picture and said, "Paint it black and put it on a cliff and it you have Harp House."  Photo cr...

BLOG TOUR + INTERVIEW + GIVEAWAY: Nowhere But Here by Katie McGarry

Welcome to my stop on the NOWHERE BUT HERE Blog Tour! I'm so excited to be able to share the start of Katie McGarry's brand new THUNDER ROAD series with you.    ~ Author Q+A ~     1) I'm really excited about your new series, Thunder Road! Who was the most difficult character to write? In Nowhere But Here, Oz was the most difficult character for me to write. In this book, someone he loves dearly, someone who is like a mother to him, is dying.   Growing up, I had the most epic friendship. Tiffany and I had been a duo our entire lives. It’s rare for me to have a memory that doesn’t include her. I loved her…like a best friend, like my sister, like a part of my soul. She had a genetic disease that unfortunately took her life. I watched her battle this disease for years and losing her was like losing a part of my soul. I gave Oz my sadness, frustration, grief, and then appreciation for the amazing life I had because I had been blessed, i...

SERIES REVIEW + INTERVIEW: White Rabbit Chronicles by Gena Showalter

Thanks for stopping by!  I recently binge read all three books in the White Rabbit Chronicles series, and had the opportunity to interview Author Gena Showalter.  Check out what I thought and what Gena had to say... Alice in Zombieland (White Rabbit Chronicles #1) She won’t rest until she’s sent every walking corpse back to its grave. Forever. Had anyone told Alice Bell that her entire life would change course between one heartbeat and the next, she would have laughed. From blissful to tragic, innocent to ruined? Please. But that’s all it took. One heartbeat. A blink, a breath, a second, and everything she knew and loved was gone. Her father was right. The monsters are real…. To avenge her family, Ali must learn to fight the undead. To survive, she must learn to trust the baddest of the bad boys, Cole Holland. But Cole has secrets of his own, and if Ali isn’t careful, those secrets might just prove to be more dangerous than the ...
