A Nightmarish Review: The Sleepwalker Tonic by Jason Segel & Kirsten Miller

*I received copies of both books from the publisher in exchange for honest reviews*  Nightmares! (Nightmares! #1) Author(s): Jason Segel , Kirsten Miller Illustrator:   Karl Kwasny Publication: September 9th 2014  By: Delacorte Books for Young Readers Amazon | B&N | Goodreads  A New York Times Bestseller! Jason Segel, multitalented actor, writer, and musician, teams up with New York Times bestselling author Kirsten Miller for the hilariously frightening, middle-grade novel Nightmares!, the first book in a trilogy about a boy named Charlie and a group of kids who must face their fears to save their town. Sleeping has never been so scary. And now waking up is even worse! Charlie Laird has several problems. 1. His dad married a woman he is sure moonlights as a witch. 2. He had to move into her purple mansion, which is NOT a place you want to find yourself after dark. 3.He can’t remember the last time...

Bad Kitty: Puppy's Big Day by Nick Bruel

Series: Bad Kitty  Publication: January 6, 2015 By: Roaring Book Press Amazon | B&N | Goodreads  5 Stars! "This eight book in the popular Bad Kitty series features a day in the life of Kitty's ever-slobbering foe, Puppy"-- *I received this ARC from the publisher in exchange for an honest review* ~ Review provided by the 10 year old ~ First Impression: Funny. Good. Hilarious. What I Liked: I wanted to read this because I like cats. Once I started, I did want to stop until I was done. Bad Kitty is rude which I think is kind of funny. I also liked that it reads like a comic book. It was funny w hen Uncle Murray got yelled at by the police officer for not carrying a poop bag when he took Puppy for a walk. I liked this book so much I started writing my own story about "Crazy Cat Mittens".  Final Verdict: I can't wait for the next one!

This is his review. :) Author: Ava Dellaira Publication: April 1, 2014 By: Farrar, Straus and Giroux (BYR) Amazon | Goodreads 4 Stars I t begins as an assignment for English class: Write a letter to a dead person. Laurel chooses Kurt Cobain because her sister, May, loved him. And he died young, just like May did. Soon, Laurel has a notebook full of letters to people like Janis Joplin, Amy Winehouse, Amelia Earhart, Heath Ledger, and more; though she never gives a single one of them to her teacher. She writes about starting high school, navigating new friendships, falling in love for the first time, learning to live with her splintering family. And, finally, about the abuse she suffered while May was supposed to be looking out for her. Only then, once Laurel has written down the truth about what happened to herself, ca...
