Like Moonlight At Low Tide: Sometimes the Current Is the Only Thing That Saves You by Nicole Quigley

Author: Nicole Quigley Publication: September 25, 2012 By: Zondervan 5 STARS! Beautiful cover! "I had walked into the middle of his own personal rebellion. Most of our friends partied and broke their parents' rules. He talked about God and broke his friends' rules."  For Missy Keiser, returning to Anna Maria Island, Florida, means two things: her mother made another poor decision with men, and Missy will have to reenter a world where she’s known as “Messy,” a social pariah who dared to have a crush on Sam King, the most popular boy in school. But much has changed in the three years she’s been away. Missy’s next-door neighbor is no longer an elderly woman but Josh, an intriguing boy who seems genuinely interested in her. At school, she’s surprised to find few people remember who she once was. And any remaining taunts of Messy are silenced when Sam King gives her his nod of approval. Just as things seem to be perfect, Josh’s sudden distance, her mot...

Speechless by Hannah Harrington

Author: Hannah Harrington Publication: August 28, 2012 By: HarlequinTeen 5 STARS!  Everyone knows that Chelsea Knot can't keep a secret.  Until now.  Because the last secret she shared turned her into a social outcast - and nearly got someone killed. Chelsea has taken a vow of silence - to learn to keep her mouth shut and to stop hurting anyone else.  There's strength in silence, and in the new friends who are, shockingly, coming her way.  Including a boy she might even fall for.  If only her new friends can forgive her...if only she can forgive herself. Thank you to YABC and Harlequin Teen for this ARC! *does happy dance* I've been eagerly awaiting this sophomore offering from Hannah Harrington (Saving June was one of my favorite reads of 2011) and Speechless does not disappoint!  Also, I will read anything this amazing young author writes, ever. That is all! This cover is so unique! It's minimalist but it incorporates several ele...

"Keep Holding On" by Susane Colasanti

Author: Susane Colasanti Publication: May 31, 2012 By: Viking 3 STARS "What's in front of you, is not necessarily the entire story." This book may be small but it has the potential to make a big impact. It affected me personally because the subject matter is something I could identify with. The summary and the cover leads the reader to believe it's a book about teenage romance with a few difficult issues thrown in but it isn't. The romance aspect is minor compared to the overall message of the book which is epic. Noelle has endured a life of neglect both at home and at school. She's so beaten down she can't even see that her boyfriend, Matt might not be the best choice for her. Julian, (the best part of the story in my opinion) is the boy she really wants to be with is beginning to show serious interest in her but he can't possibly like someone like her, can he? You Might Be A Bully If...

You might be a bully if: You make fun of the new girl because she shares the same name as the girl who moved during the summer but she isn't as pretty. You might be a bully if: You give the girl with the glasses and braces nicknames like four eyes, metal mouth, train tracks and tell her she's an ugly duckling but maybe one day she'll turn into a swan.  The thing is?  She'll only remember the "ugly" part and that you said these things in front of your clique and the boy she had a crush on...while they all laughed. You might be a bully if: You follow that girl home and throw handfuls of gravel at she and her friend.  The frosting on the cupcake?  You don't even live in the same neighborhood.   You might be a bully if: You mock her every time he turns to chat with her and she flushes pink.  She can't help her reaction or the fact that he's the one boy all the girls like, including you.   You might be a bully if: When she finally work...
