COVER REVEAL + GIVEAWAY: Hear The Wolves by Victoria Scott

** NEW From Victoria Scott **

Publication: March 28, 2017
By: Scholastic

It's survival of the strongest in a contemporary, girl-versus-wild middle-grade debut from Fire & Flood author Victoria Scott!

Sloan is a hunter.

So she shouldn't be afraid of anything. But ever since her mom left the family and she lost hearing in one ear in a blizzard, it's been hard to talk to people, and near-impossible to go anywhere or do anything without her dad or big sister within eyesight -- it makes her too scared to be on her own.

When they leave her home alone for what should only be two nights, she's already panicked. Then the snow starts falling and doesn't stop. One of her neighbors is hurt in an accident. And the few people still left in Rusic need to make it to the river and the boat that's tied there -- their only way to get to a doctor from their isolated Alaska town.

But the woods are icy cold, and the wolves are hungry. Sloan and her group are running out of food, out of energy, and out of time. That's when the wolves start hunting them...

So, what do you think?

BLOG TOUR: P.S. I Like You by Kasie West

Thanks for stopping by! This is my stop on the P.S. I LIKE YOU blog tour.

I was SO EXCITED to read another Kasie West book. Each one is like a corner piece of birthday cake piled high with buttercream frosting. If you know me IRL or have followed this blog at any length, you know how I feel about cake...

Like, EVER.

What if the person you were falling for was a total mystery?

While Lily is spacing out in Chemistry one day, she picks up her pencil and scribbles a line from one of her favorite songs on the desk. The next day, someone else has written back to her on the desk! Soon enough Lily and the mystery student are exchanging notes, and lyrics, and even sharing secrets. When Lily finds out that her anonymous pen pal is a guy, she's flustered -- and kind of feels like she's falling for him. She and her best friend set out to unravel the identity of the letter writer -- but when the truth is revealed, the guy is the LAST person Lily could have ever imagined it to be. Now that Lily knows the truth, can she untangle her feelings and gather the courage to listen to her heart?

From beloved author Kasie West (The Distance Between Us) comes an utterly charming story about mixed messages, missed connections, and the magic of good old-fashioned secret admirer notes.

Kasie West wrote it, of course I'm going to read it. DUH!

This is sweet, adorable and just plain FUN to read! A little predictable, but that's okay. Sometimes that's exactly what I need to read. Lily, the MC, is quirky, doesn't fit in with the popular crowd at school, and struggles with Chemistry, but she loves music and writing songs. She's got a great family who is present and involved and a best friend who really gets her. And then there is Cade. I can't say too much without spoiling anything, but I loved how this all worked out!

Read it.

BLOG TOUR: Torn (A Wicked Saga #2) by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Welcome, this is my stop on the I Heart Tink TORN blog tour!

Torn between duty and survival, nothing can be the same.

Everything Ivy Morgan thought she knew has been turned on its head. After being betrayed and then nearly killed by the Prince of the Fae, she’s left bruised and devastated—and with an earth-shattering secret that she must keep at all costs. And if the Order finds out her secret, they’ll kill her.

Then there’s Ren Owens, the sexy, tattooed Elite member of the Order who has been sharing Ivy’s bed and claiming her heart. Their chemistry is smoking hot, but Ivy knows that Ren has always valued his duty to the Order above all else—he could never touch her if he knew the truth. That is, if he let her live at all. Yet how can she live with herself if she lies to him?

But as the Fae Prince begins to close in on Ivy, intent on permanently opening the gates to the Otherworld, Ivy is running out of options. If she doesn’t figure out who she can trust—and fast—it’s not only her heart that will be torn apart, but civilization itself.

Things are about to get Wicked in New Orleans…
Don’t miss the first title in the series, WICKED!

My Thoughts:

I so enjoyed being back in this world with Ivy, Ren, and especially Tink. I LOVE THAT LITTLE FAIRY! (If I could order one of him off of Amazon Prime, I totally would.)

This picks up where WICKED leaves off, and everything is amped up; the action, the romance and the stakes. Ivy learns more about the Fae, and The Order, as well as what the prince has planned for civilization. (Hint: It isn't pretty.) The worst is the plan he has for her, forcing Ivy to choose between protecting the people she loves, and protecting her heart.

As with book one, Jennifer does a nice job of balancing action, humor and heart. TORN does not disappoint!

Tink is still my favorite character! In one scene Ivy is like...

Ren is all,

Tink is just,
And I'm over here like,

The Angels' Share (The Bourbon Kings #2) by J.R. Ward

Series: The Bourbon Kings #2
Author: J.R. Ward
Publication: July 26, 2016
By: Berkeley NAL
Genre: Adult
Amazon | B&N | Goodreads

#1 New York Times bestselling author J. R. Ward delivers the second novel in her Bourbon Kings series—a sweeping saga of a Southern dynasty struggling to maintain a façade of privilege and prosperity, while secrets and indiscretions threaten its very foundation…

In Charlemont, Kentucky, the Bradford family is the crème de la crème of high society—just like their exclusive brand of bourbon. And their complicated lives and vast estate are run by a discrete staff who inevitably become embroiled in their affairs. This is especially true now, when the apparent suicide of the family patriarch is starting to look more and more like murder…

No one is above suspicion—especially the eldest Bradford son, Edward. The bad blood between him and his father is known far and wide, and he is aware that he could be named a suspect. As the investigation into the death intensifies, he keeps himself busy at the bottom of a bottle—as well as with his former horse trainer’s daughter. Meanwhile, the family’s financial future lies in the perfectly manicured hands of a business rival, a woman who wants Edward all to herself.

Everything has consequences; everybody has secrets. And few can be trusted. Then, at the very brink of the family’s demise, someone thought lost to them forever returns to the fold. Maxwell Bradford has come home. But is he a savior...or the worst of all the sinners?

*I received ARC from the publisher in exchange for an honest review*

In my review of the first book in this series, The Bourbon Kings, I said, if the old school drama sagas Dallas and Dynasty got married and had a baby, it would be named The Bourbon Kings.

That's still true.
Honestly, I don't know even know what it is about this story and these characters that sucked me in from the first page and refused to let me go, and I don't care. All I know is, I could.not.stop turning the pages.

I loved the multiple POVs, the ships, the crazy drama and the plot-twists. Lane and Lizzie may be the main couple, but they're not the only couple. Edward and Sutton are my ship. They're the ones I want SO DESPERATELY to get a happy ending. Even Samuel T. and Gin--who stress me out like crazy and I can't decide if I want to hug them or smack them, maybe both---grew on me.

When I reached the end, I sent Erin (Publicist at Berkley/Penguin), an email that said, Please tell me there is one more book, I NEED THERE TO BE ONE MORE BOOK OMG! Because I am a professional.
The Angels' Share is not to be missed!

~ My Thoughts~

Second-chance-at-love stories are my favorite, and this one did not disappoint! Becca and Eric have a lot to overcome: their history, their careers, the prying eyes of their small town, but I enjoyed watching them work through their feeling and issues like adults. As with the first book in the series, there is plenty of humor, heart, and heat.

I am convinced this is what Chanel Cleeton was thinking when she wrote these books...

Fly With Me: I will make you laugh until you cry. And you will love it.

Into The Blue: I will make you laugh while simultaneously kicking you in the feels. And you will love it.

On Broken Wings: And you will love it.

But it's cool because Fighter Pilots.

~ About the Author ~

Originally a Florida girl, CHANEL CLEETON moved to London where she received a bachelor’s degree from Richmond, The American International University in London and a master’s degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science. Chanel fell in love with London and planned to stay there forever, until fate intervened on a Caribbean cruise and a fighter pilot with smooth dance moves swept her off her feet. Now, a happily ever after later, Chanel is living her next adventure.

Law school made Chanel realize she’d rather spend her days writing sexy stories than in a courtroom, and she hasn’t looked back since. An avid reader and hopeless romantic, she’s happiest curled up with a book. She has a weakness for handbags, her three pups, and her husband.

Chanel writes contemporary romances, women's fiction, and thrillers. She is published by Harlequin HQN, Penguin/InterMix, and Penguin/Berkley and is the author of the International School, Capital Confessions, Assassins, and Wild Aces series.

BLOG TOUR: Defending Taylor (Hundreds Oaks) by Miranda Kenneally

~ About the Book ~

Author: Miranda Kenneally
Series: Hundred Oaks
Publication: July 5, 2016
By: SourcebooksFire
Amazon | B&N | Goodreads | Apple | BooksAMillion | Indigo | Indiebound

Captain of the soccer team, president of the Debate Club, contender for valedictorian: Taylor’s always pushed herself to be perfect. After all, that’s what is expected of a senator’s daughter. But one impulsive decision—one lie to cover for her boyfriend—and Taylor’s kicked out of private school. Everything she’s worked so hard for is gone, and now she’s starting over at Hundred Oaks High.

Soccer has always been Taylor’s escape from the pressures of school and family, but it’s hard to fit in and play on a team that used to be her rival. The only person who seems to understand all that she’s going through is her older brother’s best friend, Ezra. Taylor’s had a crush on him for as long as she can remember. But it’s hard to trust after having been betrayed. Will Taylor repeat her past mistakes or can she score a fresh start?

*A copy was provided by the publisher in exchange for an honest review*

 ~ My Thoughts ~

I had a chance to read an early draft of this and I loved it: the characters, the family dynamic, the political aspect, and of course, Ezra! *Brb, fanning my face*

Sometimes people do the wrong things for the rights reason, but that doesn't guarantee a positive outcome. No one understands that better than Taylor. The mistake she made had a ripple effect, one with no clear way out, and rebuilding trust with her family and her friends isn't easy. Good thing she has Ezra to help her figure it all out. ;)

The return of previous characters is always a plus for me, (It lets me know they're happy and doing OK. I know, I'm weird.) but it's also fun to see how the entire series is connected.

Fans of The Hundreds Oaks series will not be disappointed! Read it.

~ Excerpt ~

When I was a little girl, Dad installed a gumball machine in our house. But instead of just giving me the candy, I had to pay for it by doing chores.
Now I’m seventeen, and Dad hasn’t changed one bit. If I want a new purse, I start saving my allowance. My father made his own way in life and expects the same of me. He loves drilling mantras into my head: I will work hard at everything I do. I will model integrity and compassion. I will lead by example.
I will fully support his Senate reelection campaign.
To be honest, I don’t see him much. Only on parents’ weekend and holidays. His secretary schedules his rare visits to St. Andrew’s, my boarding school, so I know when my parents will be rolling onto campus. I know in advance to yank my plaid uniform skirt down a few inches and pull my sock up over my bluebird ankle tattoo.
I tell Ben not to hang around.
He is here on scholarship, and my mother never hesitates to let me know I can do better. Taylor, why don’t you spend time with Charles Harrington? The governor speaks highly of his nephew.
Mom wants me to date somebody with “proper breeding,” as if I’m a horse or we live in Regency England.
But it doesn’t matter what she thinks. I adore the boy who came over to congratulate me after I scored the winning goal against Winchester and then asked me to homecoming.
I love my school in the mountains surrounded by thick green trees and blue skies. I love Card House—the dorm I share with the fourteen other girls on my soccer team—where every night, I sit down to lasagna or beef stew with a black lab named Oscar curled up at my feet.
I won’t lie—this school is tough. It kicks everybody’s ass. I study and study and study. I probably spend more time on homework than sleeping.
But who cares? St. Andrew’s is my favorite place in the world.

Praise for Defending Taylor

“I can’t quite put my finger on what is so enthralling about Kenneally’s newest novel, but it totally sucked me in. I loved that Kenneally didn’t go with an easy, traditional happy-go-lucky ending. I also enjoyed the flawed nature of the characters, which made them feel more relatable. This is a great summer read and my favorite novel by Kenneally so far!” –RT Book Reviews, 4 Stars
