In the stunning prequel novella to her new mixed martial arts series, New York Times bestselling author Lori Foster brings together an elite fighter and the woman heās determined to win.
Power. Brute strength. Unforgettable moves. Itās no wonder Harper Gates hasnāt been able to get her fling with Gage āSavageā Ringer out of her head. Months have passed since she laid eyesāor any other body partsāon him. Months without a word of contactā¦ until, sidelined by injury, he comes back to town.
Staying focused on his training seemed like a smart move to Gage, even if he thought about Harper every day. Seeing her again only makes it clear how much is at stake. Heās got one night to earn back her trust. One night to show her that behind his breathtaking skill and ripped body is a man whoāll give her everything she needs.
Donāt miss No Limits, the first novel in Lori Fosterās Ultimate series.
I have been on an MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) kick lately and when I saw this title I got excited! I was hoping for a V.I.P. pass into the UFC world of controlled violence and was expecting lots of blood, leg holds and face smashing with a generous helping of romance!
But that isn't what I got. Not exactly. This does a good job of setting the stage for NO LIMITS, Book One in the ULTIMATE Series and introduces the other fighters, all of which I'm guessing will eventually have their own stories, but there are no actual fight sequences. We here about them and plenty of people are watching one on a T.V. screen in the background, but I wanted to see it. I wanted more action and not necessarily the uber steamy kind Gage and Harper were offering up. But perhaps my expectations of an MMA MC are too high. Maybe I'm reading the wrong kind of book, who knows?

A surprise inheritance reunites a mixed martial arts fighter with the woman he's never forgotten in the first in a smoldering new series from New York Times bestselling author Lori Fosterā¦
Cannon Colter is quintessential hero material: chiseled jawline, shredded bodyāthe works. He's also the guy who rescued Yvette Sweeny from kidnappers, only to put an end to her romantic dreams. These days, she's older, smarter, determined to face whatever life throws her way. Even the prospect of sharing a house and business with Cannon.
Cannon knew Yvette wanted him three years ago. But she was youngāand some things are worth waiting for. Thrown together by her grandfather's legacy, he realizes how deep Yvette's scars really go, and how much danger lurks in their quiet town. As pent-up desire explodes between them, protecting her becomes the only fight that matters. And he'll break all the rules to do itā¦
This picks up where HARD KNOCKS leaves off and we also get to see characters from the LOVE UNDERCOVER series, like Rowdy, Dash and Margo. I liked Cannon in the previous books and his fighting is what piqued my interest about this new series. He's a typical alpha male but he has a soft side too. Like with the other books, this story unfolds through multiple POVs which was entertaining. But again, as with HARD KNOCKS, we see very little action of the fighting variety.
SHOW ME THE FACE SMASHING ALREADY! Okay, so maybe I need to watch a movie or something to get my MMA fix. ;)
However, I have no doubt that long time fans of Lori Foster's will enjoy this new series!
