Nothing ever came between sisters Alice and Charlie. If by nothing, you mean everything. The sisters havenā€™t been able to stop fighting since they arrived in Serenity Point two weeks ago. Those two weeks changed their lives. And Serenity Point has changed them.

Friends didnā€™t. Charlie has a new group of friends and a new life. Jude and Cybill are beautiful, exciting, and dangerously seductive. And though Sasha is proving to be a friend and confidante to Alice, Alice canā€™t get away from the people, places, and events that mire her in the past.

Boys couldnā€™t. Alice loves Tommy, but the memory of Camilla, dead and gone, is driving a wedge between them. And Aliceā€™s ex-boyfriend Patrick wonā€™t give up on her, no matter what she says to keep him away. Jude is slowly giving up his bad boy ways for Charlieā€”but itā€™s not smooth sailing if Cybill has anything to say about it. And then Nick arrives: Dr. Van Strattenā€™s former intern seems to know things about last summerā€” things that Jude and Tommy would rather not be revealed. Alice is determined to find out what.

Their family falling apart never would. While the sisters grapple with the terrible truth about their family, the one-year memorial of Camillaā€™s death looms. The tension mounts and sparks fly as bright as July Fourth fireworksā€”and Alice and Charlie team up to find out the truth that everyone seems to be hiding.

Until they got to Serenity Point. Is Camilla their enemy and rivalā€”even six feet under? Or is she their sister, whose memory they have to protect? And what really happened to her that night on the bridge? In a town built on secrets and lies, can the truth stay buried for long?

This sequel picks up right where THE INNOCENTS leaves off and is filled with all of the mystery, romance, drama and unanswered questions that readers enjoyed about book one.

Things between Alice and Tommy heat up only to be tested when Patrick rolls into town. Then there's tall, dark and broodish bad boy Jude and Charlie's hot mess of a relationship that Cybil can't seem to stay out of and Camilla is still haunting people's dreams. Toss in a few new faces, some teenage binge drinking, a few colorful drugs and a splash of sexual experimentation and The Innocents don't look so innocent after all. *raises brow*

The questions surrounding Camilla's death are answered, sort of, as are the ones involving her mother, father and Tommy's doctor Dad, sort of. But never fear, there is still plenty to keep Nancy Drew wannabe Alice busy. She has her heart set on vengeance and fans of this series will want to find out if she gets it.

"Clockwork Prince" (The Infernal Devices Book 2) ~ Cassandra Clare

Let's take a moment to drool over, I mean, appreciate the pretty cover, shall we? *sighs* Once again, Cassandra Clare has managed to suck me into her colorful story of adventure, intrigue, love, romance and excruciating heartbreak.  *clutches chest*  Normally, I blast through books in a few hours, but I purposely took my time with this one because I wanted to savor every minute with Will, Jem and Tessa but HOLY CUPCAKE!!  Could you find another way to rip my heart out, do a "stomp the yard" dance on it and throw it back at me with demon pox all over it?!  *clutches chest*  How anyone with a heart can NOT be "Team Will" after this book, I'll never understand but if they aren't, then I say, in the words of giddy Will, "A demonpox on all your houses!" OK, so that's a tad harsh but still. "Clockwork Prince" picks up right where "Clockwork Angel" leaves off, with Tessa still trying to discover who she is and what Mortma...
