Victory Dancing! (in public)

Being a part of the Young Adult Books Central (YABC) community is a lot of fun!  You get to connect with people who are just as obsessed passionate about books as you are, there are book clubs, author chats and if you're a staff reviewer like me, you get paid (in books) to read!  That's not all though....there's a monthly competition with prizes because everyone knows that readers are winners! (If you don't know this, then I just told you, yo!)

I'm approaching my 1 year Anniversary with YABC and one of my goals has been to see my name at the top of the leader board JUST ONCE!  That finally happened in August but like any success, I did not get there on my own. (Ignoring your children because you're reading only gets you so far, you know?)  The women who usually battle it out for the top slot were a little distracted last month. C.J. Redwine was busy promoting her new book, Defiance (which is UH-MAZING, btw!), Jillian was preoccupied with her new baby girl (if you saw how beautiful this baby is, you'd be distracted too) and Christina, well, I'm pretty sure she let me win and I'm OK with that! ;D

Anyway, as the end of August approached and I surpassed the 5,000 points mark, the topic of how I would celebrate a win came up and I was "dared" to record my win, in public.  As I've said before, if I've learned anything over the past couple years, it's that life is too short not to have fun (good, clean, nobody gets arrested, fun) and you might as well laugh at yourself because I can promise you, someone else already is.

I wanted to have MC Hammer's "You Can't Touch This" as the soundtrack but after 5+ hours of fighting with iMovie, what you see below is what you get. (Jill, there WILL be an MC Hammer video in the future.)  I got plenty of funny looks, stink eyes and people managing to work their way into the background (B&N) while pretending not to notice what I was doing.  Oh yeah, apparently, I make weird dance faces when I'm concerned about getting kicked out of my favorite places.  Enjoy...

"Clockwork Prince" (The Infernal Devices Book 2) ~ Cassandra Clare

Let's take a moment to drool over, I mean, appreciate the pretty cover, shall we? *sighs* Once again, Cassandra Clare has managed to suck me into her colorful story of adventure, intrigue, love, romance and excruciating heartbreak.  *clutches chest*  Normally, I blast through books in a few hours, but I purposely took my time with this one because I wanted to savor every minute with Will, Jem and Tessa but HOLY CUPCAKE!!  Could you find another way to rip my heart out, do a "stomp the yard" dance on it and throw it back at me with demon pox all over it?!  *clutches chest*  How anyone with a heart can NOT be "Team Will" after this book, I'll never understand but if they aren't, then I say, in the words of giddy Will, "A demonpox on all your houses!" OK, so that's a tad harsh but still. "Clockwork Prince" picks up right where "Clockwork Angel" leaves off, with Tessa still trying to discover who she is and what Mortma...
