COVER REVEAL: Sacrifice (Elemental #5) by Brigid Kemmerer

I'm sooooo excited that you stopped by today because I have not one, but TWO covers to share with you.

Sacrifice: Book 5 in the Elemental Series
Author: Brigid Kemmerer
Publication: September 30, 2014
By: Kensington Teen

One misstep and they lose it all. For the last time.

Michael Merrick is used to pressure.

Heā€™s the only parent his three brothers have had for years. His power to control Earth could kill someone if he miscalculates. Now an Elemental Guide has it out for his family, and heā€™s all that stands in the way.

His girlfriend, Hannah, gets that. Sheā€™s got a kid of her own, and a job as a firefighter that could end her life without a momentā€™s notice.

But there are people who have had enough of Michaelā€™s defiance, his familyā€™s ā€œbad luck.ā€ Before he knows it, Michaelā€™s enemies have turned into the Merricksā€™ enemies, and theyā€™re armed for war.

Theyā€™re not interested in surrender. But Michael isnā€™t the white flag type anyway. There will be blood on the ground tonightā€¦

Brigid Kemmerer was born in Omaha, Nebraska, though her parents quickly moved her all over the United States, from the desert in Albuquerque, New Mexico, to the lakeside in Cleveland, Ohio, and several stops in between, eventually settling near Annapolis, Maryland. Brigid started writing in high school, and her first real ā€œnovelā€ was about four vampire brothers causing a ruckus in the suburbs. Those four brothers are the same boys living in the pages of The Elemental Series, so Brigid likes to say sheā€™s had four teenage boys taking up space in her head for the last seventeen years. (Though sometimes that just makes her sound nuts.)

Brigid writes anywhere she can find a place to sit down (and sheā€™s embarrassed to say a great many pages of The Elemental Series were written while sitting on the floor in the basement of a hotel while she was attending a writersā€™ conference). Most writers enjoy peace and quiet while writing, but Brigid prefers pandemonium. A good thing, considering she has three boys in the house, ranging in age from an infant to a teenager.

While writing STORM, itā€™s ironic to note that Brigidā€™s personal life was plagued by water problems: her basement flooded three times, her roof leaked, her kitchen faucet broke, causing the cabinet underneath to be destroyed by water, the wall in her sonā€™s room had to be torn down because water had crept into the wall, and her bedroom wall recently developed a minor leak. Considering SPARK, book 2 in the series, is about the brother who controls fire, Brigid is currently making sure all the smoke detectors in her house have batteries.

Brigid loves hearing from people, and she probably wonā€™t refer to herself in the third person like this if you actually correspond with her.

"Clockwork Prince" (The Infernal Devices Book 2) ~ Cassandra Clare

Let's take a moment to drool over, I mean, appreciate the pretty cover, shall we? *sighs* Once again, Cassandra Clare has managed to suck me into her colorful story of adventure, intrigue, love, romance and excruciating heartbreak.  *clutches chest*  Normally, I blast through books in a few hours, but I purposely took my time with this one because I wanted to savor every minute with Will, Jem and Tessa but HOLY CUPCAKE!!  Could you find another way to rip my heart out, do a "stomp the yard" dance on it and throw it back at me with demon pox all over it?!  *clutches chest*  How anyone with a heart can NOT be "Team Will" after this book, I'll never understand but if they aren't, then I say, in the words of giddy Will, "A demonpox on all your houses!" OK, so that's a tad harsh but still. "Clockwork Prince" picks up right where "Clockwork Angel" leaves off, with Tessa still trying to discover who she is and what Mortma...
