4 Stars!

Too many secrets. Not enough time.

Nick Merrick is supposed to be the level-headed one. The peacemaker. Since it’s just him and his three hotheaded brothers against the world, that’s a survival tactic.

But now he’s got problems even his brothers can’t help him survive.

His so-called girlfriend, Quinn, is going quick as mercury from daring to crazy. Meanwhile, Quinn’s dancer friend Adam is throwing Nick off balance, forcing him to recognize a truth he’d rather shove back into the dark.

He can feel it—-the atmosphere is sizzling. Danger is on the way. But whatever happens next, Nick is starting to find out that sometimes nothing you do can keep the peace.

Thank you K-Teen for this eARC.

What I loved: It's a Merrick boy, do I really need to say more? Yeah, didn't think so, but I will. I really enjoy Brigid's characters (like, really, really, really) as well as her style of alternating POV's because they're so effortless and easy to follow. She isn't afraid to throw in a twist or two either which keeps the story fresh and engaging.

What left me wanting: I was a little heartbroken to discover I never stood a chance with this Merrick. You know, assuming I was a badars seventeen year old fictional character who stood a chance with any of them, but still. ;)

Final verdict: This novella is a Nick appetizer, just enough to hold us over until his full book comes out next year and worth every morsel.
