About the Book
Obsession
Author: Jennifer L. Armentrout
Publication: May 31, 2013
By: Entangled Covet

He’s arrogant, domineering, and... To. Die. For.

Hunter is a ruthless killer. And the Department of Defense has him firmly in their grasp, which usually doesn’t chafe too badly because he gets to kill bad guys. Most of the time he enjoys his job. That is, until he’s saddled with something he’s never had to do before: protect a human from his mortal enemy.

Serena Cross didn’t believe her best friend when she claimed to have seen the son of a powerful senator turn into something... unnatural. Who would? But then she witnesses her friend’s murder at the hands of what can only be an alien, thrusting her into a world that will kill to protect their secret.

Hunter stirs Serena’s temper and her lust despite their differences. Soon he’s doing the unthinkable—breaking the rules he’s lived by, going against the government to keep Serena safe. But are the aliens and the government the biggest threats to Serena’s life…or is it Hunter?

My Thoughts

*For those who are unsure and because I have been asked numerous times about it, this is NOT a YA book. It IS set within the same "world" as the Lux series BUT these characters are adults who think and act like adults - just so you know.

I am a sucker for background stories and this was like a mini history lesson for the Lux series.  Not only do I view the Luxen differently now, but I neverevereverever expected to like the tall, dark and shadowy Hunter. He has a potty mouth like nobody's business but he cracked me up! (He would have to curb that if he came to visit, but still.) He thinks he has this job in the bag but Hunter gets more than he bargained for with Serena. She's strong, loyal, feisty and has an aim that would give the best MLB pitcher arm envy.

Unsure of who can really be trusted, Hunter and Serena have no choice but to depend on each other. The longer they're together though the more dangerous the situation becomes and the harder their attraction is to deny. (insert super steamy parts)  Hunter will be forced to choose between keeping his kind off the radar, protecting his heart and Serena safe, that's if he can keep from killing her himself.

Interview with Hunter

Hi Hunter, I know you're a busy guy and I appreciate you taking the time to stop by Jenuine Cupcakes! I also appreciate your shirtlessness on the cover - just out of curiosity, were you born with abs like that or do you have to workout a lot?   These abs are all natural, baby.  *fans face*

I like to have fun and I thought we could play a few rounds of "Two Truths and A Lie" as a way for readers to get an idea of who you are and what Obsession is about.
I'll start...

Jen: I went to High School with a member of N'Sync, I have a pet owl named, Woodstock, I jumped out of an airplane.

Hunter:  I love blow pops, I think kittens are cute, I can make everything around me frost over.

Jen: I have pink hair, I learned three languages but can't speak any of them, I won a mud wrestling contest.
Hunter:  I’m 6’6’, I have a brother named Sin, I’m a terrible kisser.

Jen: I have a pillow pet named Daemon, I bake cupcakes, I am afraid of the dark.
Hunter: I run the other way when I sense a Luxen, I can make fried chicken, I enjoy carving things out of wood.

Thanks Hunter!

About Jennifer L. Armentrout

# 1 NEW YORK TIMES and USA TODAY Bestselling author Jennifer lives in Martinsburg, West Virginia. All the rumors you’ve heard about her state aren’t true. Her dreams of becoming an author started in algebra class, where she spent most of her time writing short stories….which explains her dismal grades in math. Jennifer writes young adult paranormal, science fiction, fantasy, and contemporary romance. She is published with Spencer Hill Press, Entangled Teen and Brazen, Disney/Hyperion and Harlequin Teen.

She also writes adult and New Adult romance under the name J. Lynn. She is published by Entangled Brazen and HarperCollins.
