Excerpt 1:  Bree, Colin, and Kent
ā€œLooks like youā€™re on break,ā€ he replied. ā€œCā€™mon, Bree, just give me a couple minutes.ā€
She was about to tell him to shove it, when she felt someone come up behind her and two strong arms wrapped around her.
ā€œHey, Babe, Iā€™ve been wondering if Pam was ever gonna give you a break.ā€ Kent whispered in her ear
He said it loud enough for Colin to hear, and Briana noticed him stiffen at Kentā€™s words and his obvious familiarity.
ā€œYeah, Iā€™ve got a quick one.ā€ Briana turned and gave him a grateful look, before going up on her tip toes to meet him for a brief kiss.
She thought she heard a grunt or something come from Colin, so she turned to give him a smile and an introduction.
ā€œOh, sorry,ā€ she said, though she wasnā€™t in the least. ā€œKent, this is Colin. We went to high school together. Colin, this is Kent.ā€
ā€œWhatā€™s up, man?ā€ Kent asked, extending his hand for a shake.
Colin looked at the offered hand, then back at Kent who may have been an inch shorter than him and shook it.
ā€œNot much. You must be new around here.ā€ Colin said.

"Clockwork Prince" (The Infernal Devices Book 2) ~ Cassandra Clare

Let's take a moment to drool over, I mean, appreciate the pretty cover, shall we? *sighs* Once again, Cassandra Clare has managed to suck me into her colorful story of adventure, intrigue, love, romance and excruciating heartbreak.  *clutches chest*  Normally, I blast through books in a few hours, but I purposely took my time with this one because I wanted to savor every minute with Will, Jem and Tessa but HOLY CUPCAKE!!  Could you find another way to rip my heart out, do a "stomp the yard" dance on it and throw it back at me with demon pox all over it?!  *clutches chest*  How anyone with a heart can NOT be "Team Will" after this book, I'll never understand but if they aren't, then I say, in the words of giddy Will, "A demonpox on all your houses!" OK, so that's a tad harsh but still. "Clockwork Prince" picks up right where "Clockwork Angel" leaves off, with Tessa still trying to discover who she is and what Mortma...
