When Dee Dawson meets sexy mohawked guitarist Joel Gibbon, she knows it wonā€™t be long before she has him wrapped around her finger. No guy has ever been able to resist herā€¦ but Deeā€™s met her match in a player like Joel.

Deeā€™s not the relationship typeā€”not after seeing the pain ā€œloveā€ has caused her friends and familyā€”yet sheā€™s desperate to make Joel want her more than anyone else. He quickly becomes an obsession, and when a reckless attempt to make him jealous ends in disaster, Dee turns into the damsel in distress she never wanted to be. With her carefree world crashing down around her, the last thing she needs is Joelā€™s pity.

But Joel is suddenly determined to prove he cares, and no matter how hard Dee tries to push him away, he refuses to let her shut him out. Now the girl who swore sheā€™d never say those three little words must choose between guarding her heart and losing Joel foreverā€¦ or falling head-over-heels for the tattooed rock star of her dreams.

Riot is book two in the Mayhem series, but can be read and enjoyed as a stand alone.

I'm a sucker for cool book covers and stories about music, but throw in a hot tattooed rocker who snores like a Rottweiler and I am SOLD! Seriously, nothing makes a character more believable and loveable (to me) than giving him/her a totally mundane flaw.

I liked the writing, found the characters and the storyline interesting albeit a little predictable. By the way, "predictable" is NOT a dirty word as far as I'm concerned. Sometimes I like not knowing how a story will end and other times, I WANT to know that, despite the drama, I'm going to get lots of kissing and a happy ending. (Riot has both in case you were wondering.)

I loved the friendships in this story, between Dee and Rowan as well as the guys in the band. Dee and Joel have a complicated relationship, one that involves laughter and tears and some interesting sexy times.

And while I may not have agreed with some of the choices Dee and Joel made, I could understand why they made them.

Fast, fun and full of emotion, Riot is the kind of story New Adult fans crave and I'm excited to see what comes next!

"Clockwork Prince" (The Infernal Devices Book 2) ~ Cassandra Clare

Let's take a moment to drool over, I mean, appreciate the pretty cover, shall we? *sighs* Once again, Cassandra Clare has managed to suck me into her colorful story of adventure, intrigue, love, romance and excruciating heartbreak.  *clutches chest*  Normally, I blast through books in a few hours, but I purposely took my time with this one because I wanted to savor every minute with Will, Jem and Tessa but HOLY CUPCAKE!!  Could you find another way to rip my heart out, do a "stomp the yard" dance on it and throw it back at me with demon pox all over it?!  *clutches chest*  How anyone with a heart can NOT be "Team Will" after this book, I'll never understand but if they aren't, then I say, in the words of giddy Will, "A demonpox on all your houses!" OK, so that's a tad harsh but still. "Clockwork Prince" picks up right where "Clockwork Angel" leaves off, with Tessa still trying to discover who she is and what Mortma...
