5 Stars!

Jackson Godspeed is the hottest young Angel in a city filled with them.

He's days away from becoming a full Guardian, and people around the world are already competing for the chance to be watched over by him. Everyone's obsessed with the Angels and the lucky people they protect - everyone except for Madison Montgomery.

Maddy's the one girl in Angel City who doesn't breathlessly follow the Angels on TV and gossip blogs. When she meets Jackson, she doesn't recognize him. But Jackson is instantly captivated by her, and against all odds the two fall in love.

Maddy is swiftly caught up in Jackson's scene, a world of glamour, paparazzi - and murder. A serial killer is on the loose, leaving dead Angels' wings for the police to find on the Walk of Fame. Even the Guardians are powerless to protect themselves in the face of this threat & and this time it's up to Maddy to save Jackson.

Bare with me while I fangirl ALL OVER THIS BOOK! *flails*  First, here are a few of my reactions while reading...

"His ipod had shuffled to "California Love," by 2Pac. He turned it up. <- I love this book already."**

"This is so creative."

"Yes, THIS is what you say to a girl!"

"CAN I GET AN AMEN?!"

"LOVE LOVE LOVE!"

**California Love is a staple on my playlist and I can sing/rap/drop it like it's hot that song by heart*does the wobble*

When I found out that Scott Speer directed StepUp Revolution, I may have had an out-of-body experience. Why?  Well, because a month ago I was looking for some new dance music and came across a fun song, "Hands in The Air" by Timbaland and Ne-Yo. Wanna guess what movie this song is from?

This is how varied our reactions might be to this discovery...
You: Oh, what a nice coincidence.

Me: *sucks all the air out of the room*  IT'S A SIGN!  I'M SUPPOSED TO READ THIS BOOK! *does the running man*  (OK, so that may be a tad dramatic but you get my point.)

This is HANDS DOWN (or hands in the air) the most original angel book I've ever read and I DEVOURED it in a matter of hours! *does the snake*

What I liked: Speer uses L.A. and the world of celebrities as well as people's obsession with angel worship as the backdrop for this story. (Instead of watching the Oscars, people watch the Commissioning each year which has all the glitz and glam.) The world building is creative and entertaining and the characters have depth. There's action, suspense, mystery, and of course, romance but not of the "insta-love" variety which made it more believable.

The battle between good versus evil is clear and those familiar with the Book of Revelation might recognize a few passages brought to life (or the page).

What left me wanting: Nothing, I really enjoyed this and can't wait to read Book 2!

Final verdict: I have been Angelstruck! *pops and locks*
