On Earth, seventeen-year-old Ari Alexander was taught to never peek, but if she hopes to survive life on her new planet, Loge, her eyes must never shut. Because Zeus will do anything to save the Ancients from their dying planet, and he has a plan.

Thousands of humans crossed over to Loge after a poisonous neurotoxin released into Earth's atmosphere, nearly killing them. They sought refuge in hopes of finding a new life, but what they became were slaves, built to wage war against their home planet. That is, unless Ari and Jackson can stop them. But on Loge, nothing is as it seems...and no one can be trusted.

EXCERPT

He isn’t perfect. He is so far from perfect. But maybe it isn’t about him being perfect...maybe it’s about him being perfect for me.

I shiver as the thought circulates through me, each second making me realize the truth of it all. Jackson is perfect for me.

I slip under the covers beside him and edge closer, feeling both anxious and excited at the same time. Looking down on him, I’ve never seen anyone more beautiful in my entire life, and I wish I could guarantee he was always at peace, just like this.

And then the reality of everything hits me—the impending war, my plan against Zeus, the risks that may end up burying me—and I no longer feel that time is on my side. I’m tired of allowing my mind to fight my heart. I lean down until my breath dances with his and close my eyes, allowing my lips to caress his so lightly it’s barely a touch, but the impact is immediate. He jars awake, and I slowly open my eyes to see his staring, surprised, into mine.

“I thought you were asleep,” I whisper.

“Clearly I am.” And then in one move he cups my face with his hands and sits us up, crushing his lips onto mine.

My Thoughts

The excerpt above happens to be one of my FAVORITE scenes from HOVER and made me swoon....

The other involves water and made me do this...

The rest of the book had me on the edge of my seat with my heart in my throat and I loved every.minute.of.it!

I wanted to high five Ari for her strength, the way she stands up to the uber creepy Zeus was amazing! Her stubbornness makes her brave, but it also makes her all kinds of stupid where Jackson is concerned. I mean, I get it, I do, Jackson lied and lying is not cool on any planet. HOWEVER, he lied in order to protect her and the fact that it takes Ari so.very.long to realize this made me want to grab her by the shoulders and scream, "YOU DON'T KNOW EVERYTHING ARI! NOW GET OVER YOURSELF GIRL BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE, BECAUSE REASONS!!!" *deep breath*

And then there is Jackson. Excuse me while I check all the trees in my neighborhood to see which one will transport me to Loge because I.AM.READY!  If GRAVITY was Ari's story, HOVER is Jackson's. We get a glimpse into who and what has influened his charater as well as his ideals.  Ari gets a better look at Jackson too, and what she sees will have her rethinking all of her feelings for him. (It may also leave her breathless, for reasons.)

Once again Ari and Jackson will have to find a way to work together if they hope to put a stop to whatever Zeus has planned. It won't be easy, opposition greets them at every turn and the sacrifices may prove too great.  Fast paced, heart thumping action leads to up to an ending that will leave you stunned, dumbfounded and anxious for the next book, which I TOTALLY NEED LIKE YESTERDAY!

  2. OK, I need this series. I've been orbiting around Gravity (heh, get it? Yeah. I know. It's early and I'm weird, but you know that, Jen!) for awhile now and since you love it and the sequel so much, I'm adding to the top of my TBR.
